Not providing a good value for users

So I have led app dev teams and worked designing user interfaces for apps. This app probably cost at least $50k US to develop. So I get why he's charging $50 a year for it. But I don't think that is a good value for users, who are the most important opinions to listen to. For what it offers, and comparing this to other similar apps, the price is high. Hopefully he can update the pricing to he more in line with the value the app is offering.

If I want 5 premium wallpapers, I would probably subscribe for a month and then cancel. Most users don't want or need to have an annual subscription for this app. Maybe selling wallpaper credits and offering a weekly or monthly subscription would be a better way to monitize this app. Just my thoughts...

As for design, the user interface is a good start, but the level of polish is lacking. It needs to be refined and QA tested more for different devices. I think these issues can be easily fixed, so hopefully it gets better soon.

great after the update

i get the initial vision from MKB as well as the backlash but after the update its great, if anything probably make it a little more limited, slightly overcorrected imo. I think a balance between appealing to a broad audience as well as being able to benefit the artists from the people with the more niche wallpaper interest? like get a large amount of people using the app, maybe limit it to like 5-10 daily downloads or something, maybe they'll buy a few wallpapers they like? then have the more niche use of buying multiple wallpapers, paying for non ad tiers, etc; overall pretty cool app, i like a lot of the artists on there; the style is very professional looking, feels better than most of whats available on google, potentially could do some licensed packs of characters or something or movies, more niche interests, i know a ton of stuff i've tried to make my wallpaper theres rarely a good image for it, licensing that could justify a purchase a bit more when theres as much cool generic (as in not a specific interest) type stuff on there for free

This update improved a lot of things

A lot of stuff is available for free and you can support and find artists if you want. There’s an ad free sub for $2 (this saves you from having to watch an ad to unlock high resolution free content), a premium for $12 (unlocks all content) and annual for $50 as well as artists collection that are available for around $8. I think the pricing for premium snd annual could be closer to $6, and I think people should be able to tip the artists too, but that’s just my opinion. I’ve never purchased art before, but from what I’ve seen, it can get pricey, so I don’t think the prices are unreasonable, just not something I could see myself purchasing (besides the ad free mode.) Not for everyone, but a pretty great app overall all. My take is, wallpapers should be cheaper since there’s so much good stuff out there for free, but I understand there are people trying to make a living off their talent.
