Black Angus Steakhouse 4+

We have been going to the San Lorenzo location for over 30 years. Seen it through tough times and when it was so busy you HAD to have a reservation. It was always a casual but high end feeling place with nice people and a relaxed atmosphere. My kids are now grown and it is their restaurant of choice for special occasions. The potato skins can’t be beat and the prime rib, wonderful.

On April 28 received an email about $10 off a $60 3-course feast that was valid April 27 and 28. Couldn’t order yesterday since the email came today. Ordered today. The delivery person took it to a wrong address. Sent us a photo of somebody else’s door. Our house has big number on it.
I tracked him down but he didn’t he speak a word of English. Took me forever to communicate with him using Google translator. Finally he returned and gave me our order. The food was absolutely cold.
We ordered two steaks both medium well. One was medium well, the other one was rather medium or even medium rear.
The bread that we like so much was at least 2-3 days old. Barely could bite it. The food was very tasty but why couldn’t the service be better.
Every time we order there is something wrong and it’s like nobody cares. Few times spoke with managers bc every time there is an issue and they absolutely don’t care. We continue to order because we like the food. But not the service. Why can’t a major restaurant chain provide better service?

First off let me say that I have eaten at Black Angus since the 1980s. Lately they are unable to get the order correct. We order their prime rib but hate the end cut. I was told they don’t give you the end cut unless you ask. Not true, about 80% of the time we get the end cut. So I have to order, then call to state NO END CUT. I can not eat pepper. The prime rib has a pepper rub that I can cut off but not if it is an end cut. But they will still give an end cut when you request they don’t. I even call and spoke directly to the manager, but still they will get us the end cut. Recently they have started covering the meat with pepper everywhere, even when you request no extra seasoning. I hate this restaurant now but only ordered there today as a sick family member wanted prime rib. FYI meat that has to be washed to remove excess pepper does not taste that

Update: we did order from them today. We ordered and paid for two baked potatoes, we received one. Also the meat was over cooked.
