Description
The indispensable recipe tool for professional chefs, culinary students and the home culinarian.
Bakeshop is more than just a recipe storage app. Bakeshop understands formulas and it uses volume/mass ratios for each ingredient to perform complex conversions and scaling.
With Bakeshop you can quickly find equivalent amounts for any ingredient. For example 'Free Scale' 1 Cup of Patent Flour and find its volume and mass in both US and Metric units (e.g. 4.25 oz / 125 g).
Bakeshops real power shows when scaling recipes. The options allow you to transform a formula by yield (number of portions) or mass (bakers %). You can also force the use and display of only US or Metric measurements as well as using only Volume or Mass units.

What’s New
Version 6.0
Welcome to Bakeshop 6! It's been far-too-long since releasing any updates, which makes sense having a full-time engineering position. On top of that, the Bakeshop codebase is almost as old as the App Store, and was becoming difficult to maintain. That changes now!
Version 6 of the app has undergone a significant code transformation in order to make it easier and quicker to release improvements. The latest technologies are now being used; Swift async/await and SwiftUI have completely modernized the app.
This release does not include any new features - and in fact scales back in a couple areas - making sure the app has a solid foundation on which to build.
Ratings and Reviews
Mr
Save your money. Found it keeps crashing when you try to enter a recipe. If you click on add an ingredient and you select the wrong thing, it crashes and closes when you try to unselect it. I notice it does not let you put in your own ingredient list (unless I missed it with it crashing) example is chocolate the only list option is chocolate chips.
Needs TLC
I don't know if this app is still being worked on but I hope it is. I like it (at least when it doesn't crash when I try to do anything, which nowadays is always) and the concept behind it. Unfortunately it is now completely unusable as any action within the app causes it to crash. Instead of saying that this app is garbage ('cause it's not) and whining about wanting my money back I would just entreat the developer to update it and make it the powerful tool that it should be.
Developer Response ,
Thanks for taking the time to rate and review. The best way to get crashes resolved, is to make sure you are sharing statistics with developers. Go to Settings > Privacy > Analytics & Improvements and turn on "Share With App Developers". If you have additional feedback or requests for feature, please reach out using the in-app and app store links.
This app doesn't work
I couldn't get the app to load any ingredients for recipes but i restarted my phone and it worked like a charm :) it took a little bit for me to figure out how to use it but it really is great.
