Notes taking, perfected.

Goodnotes 5 takes what is good about Goodnotes 4 and make it even greater. For what it worth, the app streamline the experience of notes writing on Ipad and makes it easier to sort through your notes. It also provide a lot of useful tools and features for your notes taking needs.

I have been using GN for almost an entirety of my studies in an engineering courses and the app have help me a lot. Full disclosure, I start off with GN 4 and was given the free early upgrade pack to GN5 for the existing GN4 users.

Believe me when I said the features on GN4 felt very archaic now compare to GN5. The double tap to undo and triple tap to redo is a god send. I do not think I will able to return on using GN4 or even any other note taking app.

There are cons of course but for me it is primarily the performance. The app perform inconsistently. Sometimes it is buttery smooth, but other time it got its fair share of noticeable lagginess. There are some occasional crash here and there, but from my experiences it is only a minor nuisance and does not effect your progress.
It worth mentioning that the app constantly autosave each of your strokes to minimise any potential progress loss. So no need to be paranoid.

As such, I think this is a very good investment if you are looking for a dependable note taking apps. It have tonnes of features, a lot of customisation, good constant updates and most importantly, VERY EASY to use.

I hate Goodnotes 6

This is the first time I’m writing a review with less than 4 stars. I’ve paid for Goodnotes 5 years ago and everything was running smoothly, it’s worth the money and I’ve recommended this App to a bunch of colleagues- until last week when i was forced to download Goodnotes 6 and have to pay for it after a week’s trial- fine. I’ve paid for it six years ago and I don’t mind paying the developers again, if you are able to provide me with the same, if not higher quality of Goodnotes. I’m someone who’s willing to pay for better service, not to mention that I’ve been using Goodnotes for six years and I’m used to it. Goodnotes 6 doesn’t even have to be better, YOU JUST HAVE TO MAINTAIN THE OLD QUALITY. But you failed. :) Not even 48 hours into the trial period and you’ve crashed and lagged and failed to load more than 10 times. Bravo Goodnotes. Now I know why you provide trial periods- to stop customers from buying your service. I’m writing this in the middle of the night after another failed attempt to download my lecture notes. You’re the first App I’m giving a one-star-review. And you know how much it costs to spend 15 minutes to write this review a week before my final exams. You’re the most welcome.
