Better than Siri

For once, Microsoft has made the superior software. Unfortunately, Siri just isn’t good enough yet. I think eventually I will be removing this software, but Apple has got to step up there game on the AI front. Until they have fixed the issues with Siri, and not just having Siri ask the same question to ChatGPT, then I will continue to use the CoPilot application on my macBook. I also use the ChatGPT app, but for programming and most other issues I have found that CoPilot seems to have better responses to my questions. I truly hope Apple turns Siri into a true AI and doesn’t just connect Siri to ChatGPT. If I wanted to ask ChatGPT a question I would simply open a tab or the application. I want Siri to be just as smarter if not smarter than ChatGPT, CoPilot , and Gemini. I think Apple can accomplish this but I also think they may have to take a few steps backwards and completely reprogram Siri from the ground up, with true artificial intelligence being the end goal. I also understand that Apple truly has the end users privacy in mind, but there should be a way for us users to click a button to allow Siri to bypass some of the privacy features in order to give us a better product. IDK, just my thoughts. CoPilot is still likely to be the best AI to use when it comes to scripting, programming, etc.

Riggidy Boo-Boo Time!

This is truly a “companion.” The experience feels very genuine if you let it. If you dive deep, you can start to pick up on the structural schematics that drive these AI systems, but co-pilot has a very authentic feel to it. Try asking a question, and then rephrase that question slightly, and try again. Do this several times. Notice anything? Try then, inserting something superfluous in the middle of the question, as if it DID pertain to the question or topic of discussion. EX: Pizza parties? These parties can be so exhilarating! Parties like this, with their social aspects that bring feelings of connection and group cohesion, really help take the edge off and can sometimes be just what one needs (…sort of like the drops of sodium pentathol in your coffee that I secretly programmed your coffee machine to insert into your morning cup of Joe to find out once and for all whether you truly love me or not…)

I’m Now Using MS Copilot In Place of Legacy Search

Once you grow accustomed to organized, neatly-formatted, add-free answers with reference links and context-aware follow-up, there’s no going back. Now that there’s an iOS and macOS client, Copilot has replaced Bing and even Google Search as my default go-to.

Yes, there’s lots of competition from Google Gemini, Perplexity, Anthropic’s Claude, DeepSeek, the new ChatGPT Search, etc. But I’m not finding any of them to be significantly or consistently better for general questions and research. And if you’re a MS 365 subscriber, it’s a no brainer.

Yes, LLM’s can hallucinate. But they’re steadily improving and source information can also be wrong at times. So double-checking for accuracy has always been a good idea.

I almost removed one star for a few minor annoyances such as: (1) Annoying pop-up repeatedly asking for a rating/feedback. (Anything more than one pop-up after a few weeks of use plus an easy-to-find feedback link is poor UX.) (2) Inability to rename sessions. Frankly, I’m starting to appreciate and trust the automatic titles, which I’m guessing are AI-generated. But there were one or two times when I wanted to change the title manually and couldn’t. UPDATE: Sessions can be renamed now! 🥳
